The letter, sent to Bangabandhu and Prime Minister's photo-linked United Kingdom unit, said in the letter that after independence, Bangladesh has been providing humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya people as well as addressing the challenges of natural disaster and development. The number of Rohingya refugees fleeing the country to save themselves from the recent torture of the Myanmar army has doubled in the last two weeks, which is more than 8 million.
It is said in the letter that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Bangladesh government has given shelter to Rohingya refugees in humanitarian thought and working in coordination with international aid agencies. But without global support the work will not last long.
In a letter to the World Community's initiative for permanent settlement of the Rohingya crisis, the letter said that pressure will be made to force the Myanmar government to take responsibility for the Rohingya people. The Myanmar government must ensure that the Rohingya citizenship and civil rights give the people with equal security and equal opportunities.
United Arab League General Secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Faruque said in the first light, "The government of the United Kingdom has already shown a strong attitude towards the Rohingya issue. But many of the British MPs may not be aware of the Rohingya problem. We want every British MP to know the matter and talk about it.
