Rohingyas are not refugees, infiltrators

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said that the Rohingya refugees who came to Bangladesh from Myanmar to Bangladesh were not refugees but they were sheltered as 'infiltrators'. Even the children born in Bangladesh are being given birth certificate as a citizen of Myanmar.

He said this at a meeting with the six-member delegation led by UNHCR's refugee High Commissioner Philippe Grandsi in the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at the Secretariat office on Monday noon.

Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said that UN refugee agency UNHCR is giving 35 million rupees to infrastructural development in Rohingya temporary shelters. The roads will be built with this money fast. These roads will be used for the temporary allocation of Rohingyas for 2000 acres of land in Kutubpong and Balukhali.

He said that the 35HD funding for UNHCR infrastructure development will be getting faster. Under the supervision of the army, infrastructural development including roads and roads for Rohingas will be finished soon. Because the army is experienced, it is possible to do perfect work through them.

The United Nations agency has promised not only infrastructure development, sewerage, healthcare, and other humanitarian issues, and to stay in close proximity.
